Ignorance causes us to believe the way of the universe is that each of us is unto ourselves, sovereign and free from attachment to anyone or anything else. When we base our world on that self-centered delusion, we are rejecting the life force which is driving the universe to evolve. This results in our disintegration and eventual extinction.
Life is in the universe. We are experiencing the rise of life’s capacity to choose our own evolution. Ignorance, or refusal to accept what we are discovering, characterizes the choice for extinction rather than for growth and development. My hope is that there are members of life somewhere choosing to grow and develop, as I am trying to choose here among many extinction-minded members.
There is more to life, my friends. We are only at the inkling of the start, the beginning of consciousness with prospects unfathomable extending far before us. Choose life being revealed with each step of enlightenment.
That boast of confidence
In my own genius
Indicates a measure
Of self-delusion and
Dressed up incompetence.
Here am I immersed in
My misconception of
Solo independence
Mistaken for freedom.
From TV and movies
Learning performance skills
For scientist, warrior,
Economist, leader,
Successful businessman,
Puppet dressing the set
Of my highly rated
Global reality.
The old adolescent
Plays my self-centered game
Without satisfaction
Scamming the world I own
To worship my image.
My delusion cocoon
Guarding me from abject
Disappointment in life,
Points the blame on others’
Clear culpability
For my pile of failures.
And all for refusing
A little discipline,
Healthy self-denial
To avoid ignorance,
View myself modestly,
Acknowledge my limits
In the company of
The body universe
Rather than competing
Particles consuming
All they can before death.
Those who have ears to hear,
Let them avoid my plight;
Eyes to see, choose their path.
